Break on through

Some of you may have noticed – things have been quiet at IndiBlogger for a while! This is due to 2 reasons:

  1. The operational challenges that come with running a 12 year old product. Although the principles we setup IndiBlogger on so many years ago still stand good today, the industry’s requirements have changed.
  2. A decision we made a long time ago has left us without the means to overcome the above-mentioned operational challenges. We’ve been trying to make it work over the last few years, but in the end, IndiBlogger has always been about freedom – and we’ve decided that there’s no way we can do justice to this community with one hand tied behind our backs.

So we’re doing the right thing for everyone and taking a step back, so we can do greater things. We don’t know what shape or form it will take, but this team has never been one to dream small, so I personally can’t wait to see what happens.

So what happens now?

  • Any section of IndiBlogger which does not require any human intervention (such as IndiVine, Top Posts, IndiSpire, IndiMail, IndiNetwork) will continue to run as usual.
  • Any section on IndiBlogger which serves as proof of an accomplishment – (IndiContests, IndiMeets, Indian Blogger Awards, BNLF, WeBlogAcademy Certificates, etc.) will be permanently archived and accessible.
  • Any confidential information that you have shared with IndiBlogger will remain private and secure, as it has always been.
  • Moz recently announced that Mozrank, an integral part of our IndiRank algorithm is being phased out, so IndiRank will not be updated any more.
  • IndiBlogger Badges will continue to be hosted on the same world-class CDNs.
  • We are no longer accepting signups.
  • IndiSupport is no longer manned. You can always reach out to us using one of the options on our contact page.
  • 25th – 30th June 2019
    • The IndiForum will be made read-only and archived to prevent spam.
    • The Android app will be taken off the play store and will cease to function.

Where does the team go from here?

As it has always been, our future is full of uncertainty, and full of possibility; but here’s one thing for sure – what true blogging stands for, and represents, will always be in our DNA. It’s never been about the platforms or mediums we’ve used, the languages we chose to communicate with, or even the banner “IndiBlogger”. Everyone you’ve ever interacted with, either online or in person, is and always will be a part of the IndiBlogger family. What brought us together is something that can never be taken away from us. Stay tuned!

We blog, therefore we are.

I am a bit late on the news. Even though I have become less of a blogger than a procrastinator and have been visiting the forum occasionally, it was a comfort knowing Indiblogger was somewhere out there, waiting to receive the droplets of my passion. If you at all plan to wind up, it will be passing of an era in blogosphere.

I am sure you would have considered the option of making the membership a paid service. I’d request you to give it a chance anyway.

The trophy I was awarded in 2013 for Best Short Story Writer has broken. I have been postponing the refurbishment for years now. I guess its time has come.

    Best wishes,

    Umashankar

    Dear IndiBlogger team,
This family is the first one that I go to when I want to share some thoughts of mine. The way I see it is, that you are in the process of “Spring Cleaning ” , which is mandatory from time to time ! I am sure you all will recharge, re-dress and meet us in a fresh new garb. All the best….waiting!

  20. Jimmy says:

No one gave my blog as much exposure as IB did. You guys rocked in inimitable ways: Bloggers’ Meets, Competitions, Promotions, etc. Popularisation of anything has its perils. Blogging is going through such a crisis now. I’m sure standards will return to blogging and IB will find new ways in the meanwhile. All the best.

  21. Danish says:

    Hi IndiBlogger group,

This family is the first that I go to when I need to share a few contemplations of mine. As far as I can tell is, that you are “Spring Cleaning ” , which is compulsory every now and then ! I am certain all of you will energize, re-dress and meet us in a new clothing. All the best….waiting!

  23. Ashwin Kumar says:

Indiblogger has been my first every exposure to blogosphere and have made tons of friends through it. Back in 2008 when no one cared about bloggers or blogs, you guys spearheaded it all. Yes the industry has changed and terribly so. Some of the most abysmal things I have seen as a content creator over the years is that people now equate an IG profile to be a blog.
So I feel you guys and want to thank you deeply and from the bottom of my heart , you have helped make many friends and many many memories. IB will be dearly missed.

  24. Montu rai says:

Indiblogger and you Renie have given us the most beautiful family in fact you are family to us. Really look forward to some really wonderful news from you. Wishing you and the dearest Inditeam all the very best.

This is a sad one. The platform that has launched most bloggers in the blogosphere is coming to an end. I feel bad for the newbies who I always recommended this as the platform to join when they start their journey and for you guys too. You have been a wonderful team👏. Best wishes.

  41. Nikunj says:

This is such sad news! I have been part of Indiblogger for many years now and it was Indiblogger that gave me the impetus I most needed – the first Indiblogger Award (for Arts and Theatre)!!! And of course, many blogger friends whom even though I have never met are an inevitable part of my creative journey! Well, I am filled with nothing but gratitude and love! Thank you so much for the supporting platform that you offered to all of us. Wishing each one of you the very best ahead! Hoping for the return of your new avatar asap! Thank you <3

  42. Indiblogger – you guys were the best we had … and we ever will …

    Thanks for everything!

  43. Not all times are favorable, so is this too, yesterday read the news about the demise of Indian Legendary Actor Irrfan Khan and today got the news of another legend Rishi Kapoor and now read this news of the best blogger community IndiBlogger is at halt.

I have asked many newbies to join this wonderful community of bloggers and to learn from this par excellence community. I myself have gained a lot from IndiBlogger and got introduced to many great bloggers from the blogosphere. It was doing so great. But, change is a law of nature, and with change comes new responsibilities, new ambitions, new inventions and a whole new world. Many best wishes for the IndiTeam to the world of opportunities!

  44. arnav sharma says:

Hardly a year of association has made IB a part of my existence. You put me through to the best of bloggers and made achievements look very simple. We hope to see you bigger, better and continuing your contribution to the blogosphere

  47. I just can’t believe that things change so fast..Attending blogging events even helped me professionally. I thought Indiblogger will keep working in full flow, but it seems things have changed..I hope you get back working full flow. Some of the team members have always been very cool and now good friends too…I remember the time when I used to attend maximum number of events in Mumbai, but then I too got busy professionally.

Indiblogger rocks and it will always rock. May be there will be a small break, but I just hope that things will change..All the Best to the team members and guys you definitely rock.

I’ve just poured in all my thoughts here..I hope I’ll be remembered by the team..Haha. Take Care

  48. IndiBlogger will consistently remain the most astounding group that there can ever be, and that is effectively pleasing to any individual who has met us ever. In any case, to have been a piece of the center group has been one of the most satisfying encounters for me; expertly and by and by. All that I know, all that I found out about buckling down, hard working attitudes, having a fabulous time, having each other’s back, and belonging”, “was here, with this group. Thus IndiBlogger will in every case live in me, as it will in you on the off chance that you were a piece of this splendid excursion!

  49. This family is the first that I go to when I need to share a few contemplations of mine. As far as I can tell is, that you are “Spring Cleaning ” , which is compulsory every now and then ! I am certain all of you will energize, re-dress and meet us in a new clothing. All the best… .pausing!

  50. Shinugupta says:

IndiBlogger will always remain the most amazing team that there can ever be, and that’s easily agreeable to anyone who has met us ever. But, to have been a part of the core team has been one of the most fulfilling experiences for me; professionally and personally. Everything I know, everything I learned about working hard, work ethics, having fun, having each other’s back, and what it means to “belong”, was here, with this team.

  51. Sumit Baluni says:

Well you gotta do what you gotta do.. so good luck to you guys and thanks for all the kick-ass events and memories… 😍😊
